A Review of Four Popular Netbooks ASUS, Acer, MSI, and HP - Part 2 of 2

Now we talk about the ports that you have on the EeePC, Aspire One, 2133 and Wind netbooks. They're all basically the same. From the right side, the Acer Aspire one has a microphone and headphone jack, two USB ports, and an SDHC card slot. It is the only netbook of the four to have two SD card slots instead of one and includes a multi-card reader. On the left side, there is the other SD card slot, one USB port, one Ethernet port, one VGA port, and DC IN for your power. The HP 2133 has an express card port which the other three netbooks do not have. This basically covers the input output ports of all four netbooks.

We have already talked the size but what we haven't covered are the things you have to carry around with these netbooks. If you compare the power adaptors for the ASUS and the HP, the size of the ASUS one is a bit smaller and this is because of the Intel Atom processor's lower power consumption. The adapters for the MSI and Acer netbooks are pretty much the same size as the one for the ASUS.

For other accessories, the Acer comes with sort of a pleathery (fake leather) slip of a case and not much else. The ASUS EeePC comes with a velvety slip of a bag and a micro fiber cloth, which all netbooks should come with, because they're finger print magnets. The MSI Wind comes with a white and pinkish plastic zipper case. The HP 2133 doesn't really come with any accessories. They all come with a recovery DVD of some sort.

Whether you're a professional on the go or a student, it's going to be pretty important to be able to take out your computer and take some quick notes or check something on the internet. We are now going to compare the startup booting speeds of all four netbooks. The Acer Aspire One is the overall winner because it's got a smaller and lighter Linux operating system not to mention an SSD drive and the Atom processor. The HP 2133 was the slowest of the four, namely because of the magnetic hard drive, the slower VIA C7 processor, and the use of Windows Vista which is a resource hog.

The EeePC is recommended for people with small hands. It has the smallest form factor and the best battery life. The Aspire One is a very good compromise for the average Joe. It is a little PC with great functionality and is the lowest priced. The HP 2133 is recommended for people who are more concerned over the form factor over the general speed of the netbook. The Wind is recommended for people who like the pretty colors.
